Research Associate II or Senior Research Associate

At Absci, you'll explore the exciting world of AI-generated antibodies and biological hits, assessing their cellular binding and engineering innovative cell lines for our cutting-edge programs. Our Cellular Screening Team collaborates closely with our Disease Biology team to develop and optimize cell-based assays. Your work will be pivotal in elucidating mechanisms of action (MOA), confirming desirable activity, and predicting the PK/PD properties of our promising hits and leads. Responsibilities: 

  • Utilize automation-aided cell-based ELISA and analytical flow cytometry to assess cellular EC50 for various antibodies.
  • Develop and troubleshoot cell-based assays in medium- and high-throughput formats.
  • Maintain mammalian cells through regular splitting, media changes, etc.
  • Engineer mammalian cell lines using transposase-mediated and lentiviral gene transfer.
  • Analyze data using SoftMax Pro, GraphPad Prism, or JMP.
  • Prepare and present progress reports to the team and other stakeholders as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Research Associate II: BS degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.

OR

  • Senior Research Associate: BS degree with 5 years of related experience with a BS degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge and practical experience in working in a mammalian cell culture laboratory, demonstrating confidence in using aseptic techniques.
  • Experience with DOE methodology for accelerating assay development.
  • Hands-on experience establishing high-throughput workflows and analyzing complex data sets.
  • Demonstrated track record of working on teams cross-functionally to exceed goals.

Preferred (but not required):

  • Track record in developing cell-based bioassays and potency assays.
  • Experience in assay qualification or validation.
  • Experience with high-content imaging systems, liquid handlers.

The salary range for this position is $78,000 - 100,000/year. Competitive equity package applies. Pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to equity, compensation packages include a wide range of medical, dental, vision benefits and ability to participate in our employee stock purchase plan.
